WhyHunger celebrated their 40th Anniversary on June 23rd at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. EEG produced this 3-course sit-down dinner for close to 350 guests, which kicked off with an extended cocktail reception that featured an exhibit of six 10’ panels depicting key moments in WhyHunger’s 40 years. Guests entered the dining area to a musical tribute to Harry Chapin’s legacy by his brother, Grammy Award-Winning singer/songwriter, Tom Chapin. Grace Potter received the ASCAP Vanguard Award and performed with Warren Haynes. The WhyHunger Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to WhyHunger co-founder and ambassador, Bill Ayres. This magical evening closed out with a stellar performance by the legendary Felix Cavaliere, of The Rascals.
